The Site

An actor, a long time ago in Hollywood, once quipped that all you need to start an asylum is an empty room and the right kind of people. The sarcasm (for comedic effect) is from the classic screw-ball comedy My Man Godfrey with William Powell and Carole Lombard. The irony today is nothing if not tragic and sadly, lethal to our way of life. We need an empty room (padded naturally) for all the lunatics making public policy that is destroying our country. I'll cover with fresh perspective topics ranging from public officials on ever more inane ideas on immigration reform, politics as if nothing has really changed, economics you can actually use, and other esoteric topics you'll probably never admit knowing anything about at the next family shindig.

Interesting fact

The NRA says that more Americans over sixty-five are using guns. The increased training is counter to a decades long drop in ownership. An increasing number of older people are heading to shooting ranges across America to learn how to handle a firearm.

A spokesman for the NRA cites reasons alluding to self-defense, terrorist attacks, and other imaginary reasons. There's even a pic in the May AARP newsletter showing a group of aged women (one in a wheelchair!) sporting a hand gun and showing her friends! Yes, absolutely. This is precisely what we need. Non-ambulatory, half-blind Grandmas razing the parking lot of Dollar General with bullets when they frighten themselves.
